Sankranthi Sambaralu - Rangoli, Bhogi pandlu and bommala koluvu

January 12th Sunday 5:00 pm onwards: For Sankranthi panduga we are doing bommala koluvu and bhoghi pandlu. Please bring bhogi pandlu, flowers and coins while coming to temple.

"Bhoghi Pandlu" is a special ritual to be performed on the day of Bhoghi. On this occasion, the children are dressed up with new dresses. They are given Haarathi and Bhoghi pandlu (special mixture of gooseberries, petals of seasonal flowers, currency coins, small pieces of sugarcane, whole Bengal gram soaked overnight and akshantalu) are showered on the heads of children to protect them from the evil forces, get them better health and prosperity. It is a type of solution for Nara Drishti and Graha Peeda Nivarana.

Note: Cow dung/Aavu peda is available for gobbemmalu at our temple premises from 01/09/2025.
